Utah's Great White Elk

They say birds of a feather flock together and this apparently applies to a pair of pure white elk. These photos, supposedly taken in Logan Canyon, UT, show two all-white elk with a tan and brown tagalong groupie. Having a little brother who once spotted a white deer along a Montana highway and having seen photos of white and “calico” deer I have little doubt that these photos are authentic. Generally, in an Internet Legend like this the question isn’t so much if as it is how and where. For example, are these beauties wild passersby in Logan, UT or are they from a wildlife preserve in Russia? Much the way “Pass me the Oreos” might turn into “Cats need my Oreos” in a 3rd grade game of telephone, as these legends are forwarded on in cyberspace they seem to magically create their back text.

Monster Moose

Okay. So, the dude is sitting at the back of the moose. This definitely contributes to the perceived size of this monster moose. But still, it looks so big! There has to be something amiss here, right? It appears this thing is to the moose what the wooly mammoth is to the elephant. Some prehistoric version of a moose that could skewer an entire pack of wolves on its rack. Although I couldn’t pinpoint it I was sure that this Legend was more fantasy than reality, but was it?

San Juan Bull in a Hole

Apr 14, 2010 San Juan Record

Local wildlife officials are still puzzled by a recent find in the wilds of San Juan County. A massive bull elk apparently was killed after it fell into a hole. Officials state that the elk was basically hanging by its antlers.

New World Record Bass Caught in Japan

The previous record was caught over 77 years ago in rural Georgia. The new record ties the previous record and weighed in at 22 pounds and 4.97 ounces.

Absolute Toad - Yukon Bull

In the 1950’s elk were introduced to the Yukon Territory from Yellowstone National Park. The Rocky Mountain elk, which were not native to the region, have been growing in population since their introduction. This growth prompted Wildlife Management to introduce the regions first ever permit hunt.

After 3 and a half years of living in Portland Oregon and desperately trying to return to Montana I was finally able to move back. Although I was very excited, the timing was somewhat difficult.

I really like the look of this pistol and for me looks are a big part of what I want to have, but I expect it to shoot well and feel good in my hand.

I have the 4.5 inch fluted barrel, but the 6 7/8” fluted barrel is also an option. It originally had the half-checkered Cocobolo wood grip panels, but I changed it out for some metal blue grip to personalize my pistol (see picture). It has the fiber optic front with V-notch rear sights. The pistol is a satin stainless finish except for the sights, magazine, grip screws, grip panels, and trigger.  It is also drilled and tapped for a Weaver-style scope base, which is provided with the pistol. I mounted a 2x6 Bushnell handgun scope on mine.
